How I Achieve A Heatless Blowout

I loooove doing hair posts, maybe this will become a weekly thing since i'm always trying something new whether it be a style or product.

This post is going to be on no heat blowouts,
this is my favorite method for quick stretching of natural hair and maybe it'll be yours soon as well.

What I Did:
1. Washed my hair with ORS HAIRepair Invigorating Shampoo
2. Conditioned with Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist
3. Applied Cantu Shea Butter Leave In on soaking wet hair
4. Coated hair with Vatika Coconut Oil ( I love this oil but I will be finding another coconut oil to replace it)
5. Sectioned off hair while in shower and twisted it
6. Let hair dry while wrapped in t-shirt
7. When hair is still damp its time to blow dry(I have a blowdryer with a cold setting, if you don't use your coolshot button and use a heat protectant.)
8. Mid way through blow drying I apply Carols Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey which makes their hair more smooth and set.
9. Optional- twist while blowdrying for soft, silky twistout.

Note: Tangle Teezers work great for heatless blowdrying, if you want your hair to be smoother follow up with a denman or paddle brush.

The Perfect Wash and Go?!

Hey hunnibees! I haven't done a post on my hair in a while eh?

If you know me then you know that I live on twist outs and never do wash and go's.
To make the story short..I tried twice, it went horribly and from then on I gave up.
But recently one of my favorite product line's came out with a new product....

Cantu Define&Shine Custard (aka my new favorite)

I always speak high of their leave in conditioner because it keeps my hair moisturized while I wear twists/ twist outs and it smells l-o-v-e-l-y! When this item arrived on the scene I had to snatch it up.

• Delivers brilliant shine and perfect hold
• No mineral oil, sulfates or parabens

And...its only 5.97 for 12 oz? Come on, they made this for me and my thick hair friends obviously.

I washed my hair and started prepping it, luckily my sister came out to do it for me (woo!)
She used the typical wash and go method of "prayer hands" and used cantu's leave in followed by the gel.
We did all of this on soaking hair as advised (some people are getting flaking and I think this is because they are doing it on damp hair and not soaking wet hair).
We clipped down my hair in four sections and I sat under the dryer for what seemed like forever- my hair takes a long time to dry and I wanted to make sure everything set.

I've never got my curls defined sans frizz! This was amazing to me (=

Verdict:
This product defined my curls, gave them shine, made them pop and left me frizz free for a great price. It did not flake on me but did leave my hair feeling set(which isn't a bad thing- the pictures above are all right after it dried) it was good and once I slept my hair softened and has continued to look amazing. If you've been looking for a product that defines your curls definitely go out and buy this- but - follow the directions closely and use it on soaking wet hair for best, non flaking results!

Hair Update (=

Hey Hunnibees!
I recently dyed my hair so I thought I'd share it with you all (=




I have dark hair and I dislike lifting it more than once every six months so I went for my usual brand Clairol Soy4Plex Pure White developer in 30 volume, previously i've used 40 and came out fine. But I decided to use 30 this time so that my hair that was previously dyed didn't become too damaged.

I always use Kaleidocolors whether I'm coloring my own hair or extensions. I typically use the purple but since I was using volume 30 I wanted to use this one because it lightens 5 levels instead of 4.

My Hair?

I never really blog about my hair,

but if you don't know-im natural (=

The end of this month will be my 2nd year without having a relaxer and June(My birthday month) Will be my one year being fully natural anniversary

I had a big chop right after my birthday, done by my sister.

My hair was cut at an angle that came above my ears so it basically looks like..this \(^_^)/..make sense?

I always (even during my relaxed days) get bored with my hair so I either dye it, cut bangs, straighten it or get a weave.

So you can guess what the next big thing for my hair was..

thats right, dying it!

I dyed it blonde, though, it didn't come out as blonde as I wanted! Also, I only dye the front of my hair when I do decide to do it, because I always want this part of my hair shorter than the rest and don't mind if it breaks off a bit.

After that I went through colors like blue(which failed because my hair wasn't lightened enough), pink(which ended up more like fuschia) to my current purple-which is now my favorite! I love purple hair now and will continue to dye the front of my hair purple, I plan to go brighter before my spring semester of school (=

I have really thick hair so its a lot to take care of, but I love it the longer it gets. I live on twist outs- that's pretty much all I do.

Sidenote: Coconut Oil is my Holy Grail of awesomeness, I couldn't live without it

I'll try to make more posts about my hair, color changes, length checks and such

Also, you may notice from my pictures that I don't really wear much makeup if any at all.( I have acne so I try to avoid it)

All I typically use is bb cream, lip gloss/matte lipstick and bronzer, but, i'm getting more into makeup so you'll see more of that soon. ^___^
